Activating your service

Your Greece mobile phone number is located on the reverse of your Greece SIM card as well as on the insert folds holding the SIM card.

To activate your service:

  1. Travel to Greece.
  2. Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
  3. Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
  4. Turn your phone on.
  5. Start calling.

* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.

^ Your cell phone will prompt you for a 4 digit PIN code, which is defaulted to 4 zeroes "0000". This is a security feature of your Greece SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code into your cell phone incorrectly 3 times. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your cellular phone if this occurs.

Making and receiving calls

How to make a call

To make an international call from your Greece mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.

How family and friends call you

Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, followed by the country code 30 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 30 and then your mobile phone number.

Recharging your account

To add credit to your Greece SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Airtime vouchers. You will find these vouchers at most tabac shops, convenience stores and petrol stations in Greece. They may be purchased in 4 denominations: 3, 10, 20 and 36 Euro.

To recharge your account:

  1. Purchase a recharge voucher.
  2. Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your recharge voucher code.
  3. Dial 1252 from your own mobile phone or 0944 40 1252 from a fixed landline.
  4. Follow the instructions to enter your voucher code.
  5. Start calling

Do not purchase another Greece SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!

To check your current account balance:

  1. Dial 1252 from your mobile phone at no charge.
You can also find out the value of the last outgoing call and the date that you last recharged.
